DESCRIPTION:The traction battery in an EV represents 40-50% of the vehicle’s value. Knowing its health is important when buying or selling a used one. Knowledge is also useful when getting close to warranty expiration. \nFor October\, we will hear from Smartville\, A Carlsbad company that makes a battery pack testing kit that provides insights on electric vehicle battery’s health. Their PeriscopeTM supports a wide range of EV makes and models\, delivering battery diagnostics on both in-vehicle and extracted batteries. It offers EV battery testing with in-depth analysis\, including state-of-health evaluations at the cell\, module\, and pack levels using OEM Battery Management System (BMS) data. \nJoin us to learn about battery health and how it can be tested. Smartville is planning to have a battery assessment tool available for anyone interested and with a compatible vehicle (Tesla 3/Y\, Chevy Bolt/EUV\, Nissan Leafs\, and a few others).
