DESCRIPTION:The Electric Vehicle Association will bring cars and EV Educators out to this information packed Tuesday where the San Diego Oasis is holding a technology fair for adults 50 and up. \nThe “Get Connected: Technology Fair for 50+” hosted by San Diego Oasis with lead sponsor County of San Diego Aging and Independent Services\, is Tuesday\, Oct. 15\, 2019. The tech fair is the region’s largest\, featuring free workshops on social networking\, online safety\, innovative apps\, smart phones and tablets\, and much more. Attendees can consult with a tech expert in a one-on-one environment to answer just about any kind of tech question. Exhibitors from local technology companies will also be on-hand to demonstrate the latest in smart home technology. Opportunity drawings for some exciting tech-related gifts will be held throughout the day. More than 1\,000 people are expected to attend. Admission is free\, but registration is required. SUMMARY:County Board of Supervisor's Meeting - EV Roadmap Vote
DESCRIPTION:The County Board of Supervisors will be voting on a proposal to apply for a grant for $5 million to bring more electric vehicles to the San Diego region.  EV Assocation members will be speaking in support during the meeting and we encourage others go and provide public comment as well.  The following is more information about the initiative. \n‘Clean Cars 4 All’ is a cap-and-trade funded program that provides an incentive (approx. $5-10K) for low-income residents in communities disproportionately burdened by pollution to retire their older vehicle and replace it with a low or zero emission vehicle alternative\, or receive a voucher for the use of alternative mobility options such as public transit\, car sharing\, bike sharing or to purchase an electric bicycle. The would authorize the San Diego Air Pollution Control District to implement the program as well as secure state funding for the program.
