SUMMARY:County Board of Supervisor's Meeting - EV Roadmap Vote
DESCRIPTION:The County Board of Supervisors will be voting on a proposal to apply for a grant for $5 million to bring more electric vehicles to the San Diego region.  EV Assocation members will be speaking in support during the meeting and we encourage others go and provide public comment as well.  The following is more information about the initiative. \n‘Clean Cars 4 All’ is a cap-and-trade funded program that provides an incentive (approx. $5-10K) for low-income residents in communities disproportionately burdened by pollution to retire their older vehicle and replace it with a low or zero emission vehicle alternative\, or receive a voucher for the use of alternative mobility options such as public transit\, car sharing\, bike sharing or to purchase an electric bicycle. The would authorize the San Diego Air Pollution Control District to implement the program as well as secure state funding for the program.

DESCRIPTION:The Electric Vehicle Association will bring cars and EV Educators out to this information packed Tuesday where the San Diego Oasis is holding a technology fair for adults 50 and up. \nThe “Get Connected: Technology Fair for 50+” hosted by San Diego Oasis with lead sponsor County of San Diego Aging and Independent Services\, is Tuesday\, Oct. 15\, 2019. The tech fair is the region’s largest\, featuring free workshops on social networking\, online safety\, innovative apps\, smart phones and tablets\, and much more. Attendees can consult with a tech expert in a one-on-one environment to answer just about any kind of tech question. Exhibitors from local technology companies will also be on-hand to demonstrate the latest in smart home technology. Opportunity drawings for some exciting tech-related gifts will be held throughout the day. More than 1\,000 people are expected to attend. Admission is free\, but registration is required. SUMMARY:SANDAG Meeting on EV Chargers
DESCRIPTION:EV Association members have the opportunity to tell elected officials to support elected vehicle charging by providing public comments at the upcoming meeting of the San Diego Association of Governments. \nOn May 24th SANDAG will vote to allocate funds to an infrastructure rebate program that will support public electric vehicle charging in the San Diego region (see agenda item 14).  If SANDAG votes in support of Resolution No. 2019-17\, then the region could receive up to 23 million dollars from the California Energy Commission for a San Diego public EV charger program. \nSee the meeting agenda for more information and instructions on how to provide public comment on the agenda item.
